Top Ten Tuesday: Bookworm Delights

Top Ten Bookworm Delights

01. Release date of the book that you've been waiting for: There's nothing like the feeling of finally reading the book/sequel that you've been anticipating for so long. Especially if you have the physical copy because it's right here, in your hands, it's there.

02. Bookmarks: they're our trusted friends whenever we need to take a break from reading. And I don't know about you but I'm one of those people who love collecting bookmarks.

03. Picturing what you're reading in your head: when you started reading and your theatrical imagination starts creating a movie in your head and it gets real when you finally know what the characters' look like, the settings look like... and then you get lost in Fiction Land.

04. Reading on rainy days: I'm a rainy day person as long as I don't have any schedule that involves going outside the house. It's also my favorite time to read (and sleep) because it calms me down and makes it easier for me to process whatever it is that's going on in the story.

05. Books with pretty covers: I admit that I do judge a book by its cover... sometimes. There are just those books with eye-catching covers that draw you in even though you have no idea what's it about. I love having them in my shelf (bonus points if they have pretty spines!)

06. Positive feedback after recommending a book: don't you just love it when you get a very good response from the person who recommended a book to? When they go "I LOVED IT!" (yes, in caps lock because they're filled with emotions) and you wanna pat yourself on the back for a job well done on recommending.

07. Trip to the bookstore: whether you're there to buy a book or not, it's ALWAYS a delight for us bookworms to step into the bookstore and see what titles are on display.

08. Reading without getting interrupted: I don't know how many times I've been interrupted and it always cuts me from the magic that's in the story. So it's a delight for me to read straight from the start to whatever page I stop without the disturbance of people and stuff.

09. Completing a great series: there's that feeling of sadness and happiness after THE END and for me, I always find the delight in being a part of the characters' lives and living in their world through my head until the end, despite how sad it makes me sometimes that there's no more book after that.

10. Rereading a favorite: we all have favorite books that we want to reread and when we finally get the time to sit down and start it again, we experience that feeling of what it was like the first time and how the story made us laugh/happy/cry. There's that nostalgic feeling especially if you haven't read the book in months/years and knowing how attached you were to it makes the rereading worthwhile.

  1. I only just discovered how much I like re-reading this year!! IT IS SO GOOD. omg! I just want to re-read all the things now. xD oh oh and reading on rainy days is amazing...unless you fall asleep instead of reading. hehe BUT IT'S STILL COSY AND NICE. Plus I'm a sucker for a book with a gorgeous cover. And I'm totally okay with that! We spend more time with them on our shelves than actually reading them, right?! So we deserve deliciously beautiful covers. :')

  2. I'm not a rereader, I want to be, but I find it hard because I have SO MANY books on my TBR pile. Hopefully this year, I can reread a few books! Great Top Ten!

  3. Rereading a favorite is the best-- I just did that during the 24 hour readathon, and was so happy I did so! Also, envisioning what your reading is the best. I've had whole films for books casted in my head!
